In 2021, Ara was buying BTS merch like any dedicated ARMY — until she had a thought: why not turn that obsession into a business? She started selling merch, getting items "for free" while earning on the side. PeriWink was born.
After a year and over ₱100k in sales, the BTS chapter closed and a new one opened — back to what she always loved: clothes. The shop evolved, the aesthetic grew up, and PeriWink became what it is today.

The 2022 Color of the Year was periwinkle — and for a BTS stan, that felt like a sign. BTS fans say "Borahae" (보라해) — "I purple you" — and periwinkle sits right in that purple family.
"Periwinkle" felt a bit too soft, and there was already a local store with that name. So she trimmed it: PeriWink. And the mascot? A little winking whale 🐳 — because why not.
In 2026, the logo got a quiet glow-up. The whale stayed — because some things you don't let go of — but the look matured. Cleaner lines, deeper tones, a more refined feel. Still playful, just grown up. The kind of subtle shift that says: we know who we are now.
